Chase Tiling Academy Feedback (source)

I did my Tiling course here some time ago. I did the 4 week course and it covers everything from operating the Rubi cutter to creating wall and floor images with tiles, to area perparation to what adhesives and grouts to use. Just thinking about the work I have had since, everything I learn’t I have used to tackle the most complicated jobs with ease.

Everything was explained and demonstrated carefully and all questions answered professionally. Phil (the course tutor) is vastly experienced in nothing but tiling, so you know you are getting the right instruction and advice. I have been to other construction training centres in the Midlands (for basic brickwork and plastering courses - well worth doing to help you out of sticky situations on the tiling), and the ’tiling’ courses they offer are obvioulsy for the DIY’er, as the course content was very empty.

I met some great people on the course (and we often swap work with each other), and I often go back to see Phil for a brew whilst swinging the lantern on my achievements. He always has time for you and still hands out the advice when I need it.

Since doing my course, I got loads of domestic and site work, and I am now looking to do my NVQ2 through OSAT.

If your going to book with Chase Tiling, mention my name to Phil, and watch the old bugger smirk

Just to update on my progress with OSAT and NVQ2 in Tile Fixing -

Phil at Chase Tiling Academy has recently informed me that the training centre is imminently due to be accredited by the CITB, therefore being able to offer the Intermediate Construction Award and On Site Assessment & Training for the more experienced to gain their NVQ.

For me looking for OSAT, thats absolutely perfect timing as its on my doorstep. For others looking for courses, this should be confirmation that the courses run here are 100% bang on.

Just thought I’d drop a quick note about Chase Tiling. I could have posted this straight after finishing the 4 week course but i thought it would be fairer to post after my first job. I’ve just finished a 16 sq mtr kitchen floor, quarry tiles and lots of difficult cuts - in fact probably not the ideal job for a first one ! I was apprehensive, wasn’t sure if I’d priced it right, wasn’t sure if I’d taken on too much - but I needn’t have worried . All the training I’d received at Chase Tiling was money really well spent. There wasn’t a problem I encountered that I couldn’t figure out a way round and all the hints and tips provided by Phil the course tutor came into their own. All I can say is that if you’re looking for a course that is excellent value for money and run by a guy who can really do the job and not just talk a good story - look no further than Chase Tiling. Phil, if you’re reading this thanks a million. The one tip I keep reminding myself of is “don’t stand back and look at the job thinking how well you’ve done because you could be putting more tiles on !!!!

I trained at Chase a while back, great course, 4 weeks of great learning fun!!! Phil is a great laugh!! Phil do you remeber the icing sugar and no nails??? ask him about it and watch him smile!! Thanks to Margret and Phil top people i will always recomend them.
