The busiest year for the UK’s biggest tile advice website.

This news comes as The Tile Association announce that their website peaked at an impressive 831,905 per month during 2011, with 304,374 hits going to member pages within the website, arguably the most important pages for members throughout the website.

TilersForums.co.uk has been running now since April 2006, and currently serves more than 19,000 members, more than 16,000 of those being DIY or professional wall and floor tilers, the rest being homeowners looking for a professional to carry out their work.

Many ’tile forums’ have been setup since TilersForums.co.uk took the lead, one forum even got purchased from a company that went into administration. Another was setup by an adhesive manufacturer. Non of them have managed to obtain any great numbers of regular members and regular traffic. TilersForums.co.uk still to this day holds the number one spot and its members keep on returning.

We’ve found a professional wall and floor tiler who has started a video blogging page with Tublr.com. Blogging about the daily stresses and strains of a tiler, and generally throwing in some tips and tricks to help others with their tiling, Adam Philips (AKA Onlinetiler) gives us a video or so per week to watch.

This week we’ve been luck and had two video’s, and here they are.

Let down by Contractor on a Mosaic job:-

And Adam’s first help video:-

A big thankyou to Adam for doing this, we all hope more tilers join in soon.

You can follow Adam on Twitter, Tumblr and Youtube.

Statistics counting visitors, hits and those searching for terms such as “Tiler World” and the likes have decreased month-by-month since February 2009 every single month.

This shows that those searching for such terms are searching much much less. In fact the February searches are more than 40% down compared to the initial month in February when our website www.uktilersworld.co.uk first went live.

On the first page of Google 50% of the 10 links are websites of ours and collating all stats on all the websites gives an even worse outcome for the term ‘TilerWorld’ and all terms similar.

If this continues it would suggest that people are searching a lot less for the website than they used to be when it was first launched. And we’re hearing all the time about tilers not getting work through such websites which can only be a result of the current climate and leading websites in the advice field increasing in traffic suggests that more and more people are looking for information regarding DIY tiling, and less are looking for professional wall and floor tilers.

TilersForums.co.uk which started out in April 2006 now has more than 7,800 active members with not a single one being pre-registered to the system. With more than 22 sponsorship deals providing support to the forum and community in one way or another, TilersForums.co.uk is just about to make the most important deal of them all.

Tile Giant which has recently become a brand under the Travis Perkins group has given the go-ahead for sponsorship and is in talks regarding superior sponsorship even.

Tile Giant currently only stock Mapei adhesives and Mapei UK already sponsor TilersForums.co.uk so the move was an obvious one.

More to follow pretty soon.
